| History The first service conducted by Calvary Baptist Church was in the Claremont Elementary School on February 7, 1954. The construction of the first wing of the church, currently our Sunday School, was completed October 2, 1960, and construction on the main auditorium was completed October 24, 1965. Calvary Baptist Church has been a solid witness in the community for more than 55 years. |
| Current Pastor Michael Walters, a graduate of Bob Jones University, has led Calvary for 30 years. Under his leadership, the church has maintained its Christian testimony in the community and has steadfastly adhered to God's Word and His directives. In obedience to the great commission, Calvary Baptist Church currently supports 28 missionaries located throughout the world. We have programs for the tiny tots, Patch the Pirate for the juniors, and Keepers at Home Club for girls ages 7-16 and their mothers. Our ladies meet once monthly for the Ladies' Missionary Fellowship and enjoy a Bible-study format Sunday school class. The men meet monthly for a discipleship program. Our adult choir meets faithfully each week and contributes to the morning worship. Each Sunday, the church provides transportation for children and adults to the Sunday morning services. |
